Abstract
The ideal characters created by ShenCongwen in the novel can be divided into
two categories: the first is the characters with distinct, wild, warm and ethnic
minorities, which belong to theounrestrained characteristics of the Mi world of
Xiangxi completely; the second is the natural and simple rural characters.
