Abstract
Figaro in Beaumarchais and Julien in Stendhal have many similarities, they both
have the spirit of resistance in the face of the oppression of feudal forces, but their
characters also have many differences. Their personalities are different: Figaro is
optimistic, humorous, and good at transforming critical situations into humorous
dramatic scenarios, while Yu Lian is sensitive and deep-rooted, calculating and
